Growing As An Artist
Updated: Jul 11, 2019
Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a great week! As I was painting the other day I was thinking about how my art has changed compared to a few years ago. So, I thought it would be a great topic for today's post. I feel as I experience more in life whether it be good or bad. It not only shapes me as a person but as an artist as well. I used to be attracted to lots of dark colors. Lately, I've been attracted to more bright and vibrant colors than ever before. I also feel that I've really developed my style of art. Each piece I create is different but I also try and connect them to each other whether it be by colors, technique, or subject. Sometimes I get self-conscious about the past art that I've made. But I also am proud because I see the art that I am creating today and how it has evolved. My art is like a journal from where I was to where I am now. I can see the hard times I've overcome through my art. Take my painting "Complicated" for instance. It's like a diary page of what I was going through at just the age of five-years-old after my diagnosis. One thing I've learned as an artist is that not everyone will love or be attracted to my art. That's fine with me. I am still learning and growing every day as an artist and I am loving the direction my art is going. As I grow so will my art.
Sending you all lots of love and positive energy,
Sierra Barnes 😊❤️🙏
